Statement Pieces

When a client has a special piece they want prominently featured in their newly designed space, we’re always up for the challenge!

Our client adored this hydrangeas painting that they already owned. As nature lovers, for them the painting represented their connection to the outdoors and the beauty found throughout nature. Since it was a favorite of theirs, it became a focal point for us.

Our design began with putting this statement piece right in the spotlight in the living room. From there, we chose fabrics and furnishings to accentuate the portrait and amplify the sense of nature in this space.

Then we moved on to the dining room … As the saying goes, “go big or go home.” We say, when you’re already at home, go as big as a tree.

The gorgeous statement piece on the dining room wall began with a real tree. We sourced the one-of-a-kind resin cast mold , which is light enough to be mounted (a real tree DEFINITELY is not!). Everything in this airy and calming dining room is designed around the tree — a true statement piece.

As always, the placement of mirrors should be carefully thought out and only reflect the best qualities of a space. That’s why the beautiful mirror is situated where it is — on the wall opposite the tree, adding even more life to that piece of custom art. The tree is additionally accentuated by the custom citrine chandelier and live edge dining table.

It began with hydrangeas and it all “grew” from there. Our nature-loving client is thrilled that so much of what inspires them about the outdoors has come to live in their own home.

What would be your dream statement piece?
